aersud elicotteri s.r.l.
Aersud elicotteri s.r.l. was established in 1963 by Avv. Martino Aichner, a famous Italian torpedo-bomber pilot in the Second World War, who was decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valour for sinking the British destroyer "Bedouin" during the aeronaval battle in the South-Mediterranean in June 1942.
In the postwar period Avv. Aichner developed good relations with the major European aeronautic industries (mainly in France and Germany), also with the purpose to obtain cooperation in the production of aircrafts for the Italian aeronautic manufacturers (among which Caproni).
Afterwards, thanks especially to such activities, Aersud became the Italian representative of Aérospatiale for the General Aviation's aircrafts and for the Business Jet Corvette and, since 1972, also of the whole helicopter range.

Aersud promoted, together with the Italian Authority for Civil Aviation, the preparation and approval of the "Gex" law (n.618 del 1968) and of the relevant Implementation Rules, which allows the liberalised use of helicopters up to our day.
In 1972, on behalf of Provincia Autonoma di Trento, Aersud established and organised the National School of Mountain Flight and, with Henry Ziegler's cooperation, who had been the President of Air France and Aérospatiale, established the Company AVI ALPI, which, with turbine aeroplanes Pilatus Porter, transported passengers between Venezia, Bolzano, Trento and Cortina and made more than 2.000 landings on the glaciers of the whole Alpine Arc.

In 1973 the Provincia Autonoma di Trento commissioned to Aersud the managing of their first turbine helicopter, a Lama SA 315 B, for mountain rescue, fire-fighting and other institutional tasks. Similarly, Aersud supported the Regione Sardegna in activating their own forest firefighting service, always with Lama helicopters. The experience thus acquired allowed Aersud to improve considerably the Italian Lama fleet engaged in aerial work on behalf of the Institutions.
As to the HEMS activities, Aersud organised in 1985, together with the National Federation of Public Assistance Organisations, the first Italian rescue service to be coordinated by an integrated Operative Centre (in Toscana), the ancestor of the 118. Always in that period, together with the French Matra, Aersud elaborated, on behalf of the Provincia Autonoma di Trento, the study for the implementation of an integrated regional system of mountain landing strips / helipads.

Aersud organised and operated, on behalf of the local authorities, the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the Hospitals of Verona. This remains to date one of the most advanced and efficient services in Europe and a reference point thanks to its numerous innovations.

| | | since 1992
With the creation of the Eurocopter, Aersud dedicated its resources primarily to the diffusion of this helicopter within Italy, ensuring its success as market leader in the civil sector. Since 2000 Aersud has broadened its market to encompass other countries in the Mediterranean.
